Correct score prediction with the Poisson distribution

A correct-score prediction estimates the probability of every possible final scoreline (0-0, 1-0, 2-1 …) using the Poisson distribution applied to each team's expected goals. Multiply P(home=h) × P(away=a) for each cell and you get a full scoreline matrix — the highest cell is the most likely correct score.
