A 3-way handicap (also called a European handicap) applies a goal head start to one team and then settles as a three-outcome market: handicap home win, handicap draw, or handicap away win. Unlike Asian handicap, there is no stake refund — if the adjusted score finishes level, the handicap draw wins and both handicap win selections lose. A 3-way handicap prediction is therefore a forecast of the margin of victory, not just the winner, and it is modelled from a full scoreline probability matrix rather than a single 1X2 probability.
